May-June 2011 update

Been too long since I've been dropping regular updates. But I'm back on track now so here's a general update from just about anywhere I was between May and June: TA Wall & Factory, St. Henri, some general streets, Rouen area, and wherever else. This is just a general update, but I'll be dropping flicks from all the regular spots (and a couple new ones) over the next couple of weeks. And it's not a monster update either, just about 50 shots. The summer weather is in full swing now and the streets are starting to get lit up, lots of nice stuff out there. I've also been experimenting with my new wide angle macro lens combo thingy and its awesome. So without further ado, here are some shots from here and there over the last couple.

There was a dude camped out in the Factory for the better part of the last month and I dunno, something must have happened as his whole spot -tent and all was burned right out. Hope dude and his cat made it out alright.

Killa Ef dropped another finely executed piece the week following that last one I posted. Always a pleasure to see.

Bumped into these guys working on a production in the Factory, came out pretty nice even though the color scheme switches up on the last two pieces.

Like I said, not the biggest of all updates, and certainly a lot more going on lately to post. I also got some great flicks from Gnar-Down from this past weekend. I'll drop that in the next day or two. Till then, stay posted.

Piece of the Week: Killa-EF

In my day-to-day I flick a lot of nice stuff on the streets and elsewhere. I take so many pics that I often do not get the chance to fully appreciate some of the nicer more finely produced pieces that I come across. So I'm going to make a point of it to post at least one piece a week, the piece that strikes me as the best of the best that I've come across that particular week I'm out there flickin' and stuff. It may not always be the best looking or designed, and it'll be to my subjective taste and what I find interesting, but I'll post it for what it's worth.

This week, well, actually last week, I stopped off at the TA Wall and came across this kick ass piece by Killa-EF. Besides the fact that EF has premium can control and some really dope hand styles, this piece stood out for those added details, and just enough to not make it too busy either. Keeping it simple, EF only used one color with the black background that really brought the focus on his practiced hand styles. Truly an 'efect' rather than a fill in. Great Piece EF.

Rouen: Aug 2010

Well I guess I was a little busier than I thought in August! I took a day to wander in and about the Rouen area from Frontenac metro late that month. The legal wall, or tunnel rather, on Rouen was granted such status a couple of years back. Information on legal walls is not easily come by. You can find it at Rouen and Moreau from Prefontaine Metro, or if you're up for the 15 minute walk then get off at Frontenac. There are a few legal walls in and around Montreal that I know about, and probably a few more I don't. This legal area gets some good action though and is in a pretty high traffic spot so there is usually something new on the regular.

At the time I stopped by there were a few writers hitting up one side of the tunnel. The other had some nice stuff up by Scien, Klor, Zek, Shadow, and a few others.



There were some really nice productions and pieces up in and around the tunnel area a street off by Bacon, Scan, Zek, Stare, Smak, Sewk, Sage, Nixon and Axe.

Along the tracks above I came across another bridge and wall area with a bunch of stuff up, and a few sites along the way.

These bridge spots are always awesome. Cool shade from the sun when you've been trekking all day, the hum of overhead traffic, the occasional vagrant, and a place to sit your ass down to enjoy a good 'ol Pabst or two. Sanctuary. The bridge area was nice enough on the graffiti side of things but the side walls along the track line going back down towards Rouen were even better. Lots of nice stuff and the area really lent itself to some nice shots with the light. Enjoy these shots. I have some from this winter that will eventually be posted too.
